Yesterday, Mrs. Suman's Media Arts classes took a field trip to Downtown Bellefontaine to film the Photography & Digital Image Editing classes' Movie Project. The classes have been working on the project from the idea, to writing, to film, and then will edit it. Then they will have a premiere of the movie.

Riverside Art students did very well at the Logan County Art and Music Festival that was held on April 11th at the Holland Theater. Gillian Knight won Best Picture For 9-12 Art. The picture was a drawing of a sculpture that she did in white charcoal. Gillian is one of the best drawers I have had. Her attention to detail and ability to capture the emotion of what she is drawing is an amazing and special skill to have.. Kristen Thompson won a ribbon in the 5-8 category for her charcoal portrait of "Dean Winchester." Kristen shows a lot of skill in this drawing and it is a very impressive for 8th grade art student. All of our art looked really good in the show. The level of skill that my art students display makes very proud to be their teacher.

I would like to give a big shout-out to these five students who tried something new over their Spring Break; Quiz Bowl! These five students competed against established teams from Bellefontaine, Ben Logan, and Indian Lake. They may not have been victorious, but I'm proud that they competed in a new experience. I thanked them by treating them to Chipotle afterwards. Go Pirates! Carter Kreglow, Jorden Dunham, Lei Hurley, Allison Estep
