It's Staff Spotlight Day. This week we highlight Dep. Jean Stanfield. Dep. Jean keeps us all safe. She is a great addition to our staff. She is here early every day and puts in countless hours for our district. Dep. Jean also help with Technology in the summer to help us get all 650 chromebook clean and reset for the upcomming school year. With a great sense of humor and a big smile, Dep. Jean can be seen giving student high fives as they leave the building. We are truly blessed to have this lady in our building and keeping an eye on us every day. Thanks Dep. Jean for all you do for us. 1. What is your job title and description of what you do? School Resource Officer, my job is to keep students and staff safe. Other responsibilities include. Opener of jammed lockers, escort of students retrieving forgotten items, dumpster diver of lost items discarded by mistake ( eye glasses, air pods), video monitor extraordinaire, summer assistant Technology Director. 2. How long with Riverside? This is my ninth year working at Riverside Local Schools. 3. Family? Jacki, four dogs, a goat, a mini pig, barn cats, honey bees. 4. Hobbies? Reading a good book, visiting the Smoky Mountains, and beekeeping. 5. Favorites (food, holiday, etc)? Halloween, I like costumes. Watching the kids at school in their costumes is fun. 6. Best Co-workers why? All my co-workers at Riverside are the best. It is a complete family atmosphere. Every takes care of each other. What is it about Riverside that makes you want to stay a Pirate? I enjoy the kids, staff and our pirate community. It is like no other.

It's Random Acts of Kindness Week! How can you make a difference this week? Riverside Local Schools would like to take a moment to thank our community for the support they have shown to Victor and Bonnie Klingelhofer. They lost their home to a fire on Friday. Dr Mann delivered a donation of $964 to them this morning that was raised during the Boys Basketball games on Friday night. They were immensely grateful. Thank you for your show of love and kindness!

Looks like my kinders & their families have had as much of a blast busting their piñatas as we had making them! I had to laugh as I watched one video. A sibling is heard asking if "that thing is made of steel or something?" when it wont bust & my little responds "PAPER MACHE!" 😂

The Senior Night Posters have been rolling in all week to promote that THIS Friday is the Winter Athlete Senior Night!! Here is some important information for parents and families: The Freshman game starts at 4:30, the JV game will immediately follow. It is difficult to give exact times of when the JV and Varsity games will start, so come early and get your seats. The Seniors and their parents walking need to meet in Mrs. Perkin's room at the JV 4th quarter to get instructions. Then the Seniors and parents will be presented right BEFORE the Varsity warm up. Tomorrow night is such an exciting and emotional night, we can't wait to pack our gym!!
