Yesterday my kinders celebrated Veterans' Day. Thank you to all who have served! 💙❤️

Monday was a big day for our Pirate of the Week, Miss Magnolia!! We celebrated her birthday, her parents came in for her Show & Tell AND she lost a tooth! We learned her horses that she treasures were the same ones her mom played with as a child and we enjoyed her fav cupcakes!❤️

The Student Council Advisors are so proud of how hard their members worked to help organize such a special event! The students started organizing duties and introductions two weeks ago. On the morning of the Veterans Day Assembly, they came to school ready to get to work as soon as the first bell rings to set up the gymnasium. Then we have members that greeted, sang in the choir or played in the band, served breakfast, read at the podium, and finally helped to tear down. Student Council would like to thank the Majesty Quartet for their special music, Don Klingler and his daughter Alyssa Hodge as guest speakers, and our Jr High Social Studies Teacher Jack Switzer for sending in a special message to his school as he continues serving in active duty.

Thank you to the Veterans for attending our assembly this morning. We appreciate you and thank you for your service!

Today Logan, our Pirate of the Week, had his Grandpa Mark come in during his Show and Tell to talk to us about fishing. We got to see lots of cool fishing accessories and saw pics of REALLY big fish Logan's grandpa has caught... some ALMOST as big as my kinders! ❤️🎣💙

A reminder that Riverside will be celebrating Veterans Day on November 13th, starting with a breakfast at 8:30 am that will be followed by an assembly. We ask that veterans and their families please park in the main parking lot by the high school gym doors.

Today Leah and Chanden earned their bendy monsters and DOJO 100 points certificates. They've been waiting eagerly for this day!

On Monday we celebrated Logan and his special day! Hope you had a great day! 🥳🎂🎉

What is it about Riverside that makes you want to stay a Pirate.
I love being a Pirate. When I came to Riverside 35 years ago in 1988, I planned on starting my career here and leaving within a few years. A lot of my family were from the West Liberty area. Billie and I fell in love with the school and community, bought our house in 1989, and the rest is history. After being here our first year, we never had any desire to leave. Go Pirates!
