Riverside High School
Community & Family Do-Good Day
Taking time to show what makes us Pirate Proud!
On March 6, all juniors will take the state required ACT during the morning. The test will take approximately three and a half hours. Once the test is completed, juniors will be allowed to go home for the remainder of the day. Normal transportation will be in operation on this day for all students to and from school.
We are required to provide and maintain strict testing regulations and environment for our juniors. Therefore, we are making other arrangements for our other middle and high school students.
All other students in grades 9, 10, & 12 do not have to report to school on this day. Instead, students will be required to participate in a Community & Family “Do-Good” Day. Seniors are expected to reach out and perform a community service. Freshman and sophomore students may perform a task for their family or neighbors. Students may work together or independently. All students will be required to have the receiver of the “good deed” sign a paper verifying the work. Each student will also be required to write a one page paper explaining how their deed helped the community or their family. Papers can be handwritten or typed; they should be double-spaced and contain at least 250 words. Papers are due on Friday March 9. No extensions will be granted. Students who do not go on a field trip and do not turn in the required paper will be given a Thursday School.
