P.T.O. News and Info
Hello, welcome, and thanks for visiting our P.T.O. page! There are many exciting things going on and we’d like to share a few of them here with you! This year we have been providing a meal for our elementary teachers on parent/teacher conference days. Many of our teachers have conferences scheduled right after school, so don’t have the chance to grab anything to eat. They have been very appreciative of us serving them these meals! We want to give a huge “Thanks!” to the DeGraff Creamery for donating lidded bowls for us to serve soup in! Also, “thanks” to all the parents who donated food and/or time to help prepare and serve the meals!
Thank you to all the students that sent in cards and goodies that were taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital to be distributed to the patients! Thank you also to all who donated to ‘Quarters for the Cole Family’! The P.T.O. was able to donate $500 to the family!
Another exciting event is our on going BoxTops 4 Education grade level contest! Every Box Top collected earns $.10 for our school, and it adds up quick! Each month the grade level that collects the most Box Tops is rewarded for their efforts. So far the prizes have been an extra recess with an ice cream sandwich for each student in the 3rd grade for October, Scholastic Book Fair vouchers to get books for the 4th grade classrooms in November, and Simon Air games to each of the 4th grade classrooms for being the winning grade level in December and January. Who will be our next winner?!
Our 5th annual skating party will be held Thursday April 6th at the Indian Lake Rollarena. Admission is free with a donation of a non-perishable food item! Show your Pirate pride by wearing your Pirate wear (such as a Riverside Pirates t-shirt) to be entered into a prize drawing! Come enjoy an evening of fun with your family!
Spring Classroom Parties are quickly approaching! K-4 parties will be held Friday April 7th at 1:45. All volunteers are to park in the North parking lot and enter through those doors. There will be a sign-in table there. Information to room volunteers will be coming home soon! The 5th and 6th grade spring party date is to be announced.
Staff Appreciation will be the first week in May! Do you have an idea for something special to do for our staff? Are you interested in volunteering to help that week with activities?
