Welcome to a new school year! I hope you enjoyed your summer and are ready for another exciting year at Riverside Elementary. My name is Christina Mann and I will be your child's second grade teacher this year. I graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Since then I have received my Master's Degree in teaching through Marygrove College. This will be my ninth year of teaching second grade at Riverside Local Schools. I reside in Jackson Center with my husband and two beautiful girls.
I would like to share my mission statement and philosophy with you. This will help you to better understand who I am and what my goals are for working with students on a daily basis.
My mission as an educator is to work with parents to help instill in students a feeling of self-confidence and encouragement to reach their highest potential. Each day, I will strive to provide opportunities for all types of learners to gain knowledge, exercise sound decision-making skills, and to learn responsibility for their actions. I will give my best effort to motivate and encourage them to be active participants in the learning process. I will build positive relationships by motivating my students to believe in themselves. I will do my very best to design curriculum and a positive learning environment that will inspire students to work to their best ability to reach towards achieving their goals and dreams.
I am excited about working with your child and getting to know your child personally. If at any time you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me at the school. I am looking forward to meeting you and your child.
